Vinous 90 points - Fresh, dark red. Showing more obvious chocolaty oak on the nose than the Mendoza Malbec, along with aromas of redcurrant, licorice and herbs. Very suave, fine-grained and sweet, conveying lovely subtle depth to its redcurrant and spice flavors complicated by sexy mocha and coffee nuances. Finishes with suave, firm tannins and excellent length. Balanced from the outset, and less dominated by oak in the mouth than the Mendoza Malbec.
Wine Spectator 91 points - Decadently spiced, with intense dark chocolate and roasted plum flavors that feature notes of paprika. Black pepper accents show on the lush, mineral-filled finish. Needs time to open up. Best from 2017 through 2021. 3,800 cases imported.
