Wine Spectator 88 points - The aromas of fresh plum, raspberry and cherry are supple and easy-drinking, but the tannins firm up midpalate. There’s plenty to look forward to. Drink now through 2024. 2,200 cases made. -JL  (Jun 15 2015)

Wine maker notes
The Pillow Road vineyard is located in the Russian River Valley of West Sonoma County, southwest of the city of Sebastopol in an area affectionately known as the Sebastopol Hills. Previously identified with Gravenstein apple orchards and counter culture lifestyles, it is now known as a premium Viticultural region renowned for producing world class Pinot Noir. Famous for its Goldridge soils, large temperature swings and sweeping morning fog the vines at Pillow Road thrive in ideal climatic conditions that produce exceptional wines capturing the best expression of this unique vineyard. The first plantings were in 2000 to Pinot Noir clones 777, 115 and 4 with more recent plantings of Calera and Swan. The different clones complement one another in the final blend, offering bright fruit tones with elegance, depth and structure.

After years of tackling Napa Valley’s rugged mountain fruit, Proprietors Pat and Anne Stotesbery, who are also the creators of Ladera Vineyards on Howell Mountain in Napa Valley, soon became interested in the finesse of California Pinot Noir. In March of 2006, after scouting multiple vineyard sites, Pat and Anne visited the Pillow Rd location, a small Pinot Noir vineyard lined with old Gravenstein apple orchards. Immediately taken back to their roots, Pat and Anne knew that the area would perfectly complement their family farming traditions and trust that the Pillow Rd story is a true tribute to one of California’s most celebrated agricultural areas.
