Wine Spectator 91 points - A well-sculpted and powerful red, with dried blackberry, raspberry and plum pudding flavors anchored by Asian spice and tar accents. Concentrated dark chocolate and cocoa powder notes fill the lip-smacking finish. Drink now through 2020. 1,000 cases imported.-KM

Vinous 93 points - (15% alcohol; aged for 18 months in new French oak): Saturated dark, bright ruby. Highly perfumed scents of blackberry, violet and minerals convey a powerful impression of lift. Delivers a rare combination of thickness and lightness, with the wine’s underlying minerality giving its black fruit flavors a penetrating quality. A real wave of fruit on the palate, but less sweet on the back end than the 2011 Malbec Reserva, finishing with extremely refined tannins and a note of oaky torrefaction. Another outstanding wine from the 2010 vintage.
