Vinous 89 points - (made from fruit that was picked at 22 degrees Brix): Bright yellow-gold. Aromas of ripe pit fruits, tangerine and vanilla are lifted by a gingery nuance. Broad and fleshy on the palate, offering poached pear and honey flavors and a bracingly bitter citrus zest quality. Leaves succulent pit fruit notes behind on the smooth, broad finish. Strikes a nice balance of richness and energy, which will help it do wonders with food.  (May 2014)

Two Paths. One Destination. Sonoma’s Russian River Valley and Mendocino’s Anderson Valley are home to some of California’s greatest Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays. While the two regions share many attributes, the wines they produce are markedly different. Throughout our friendship, we have debated the merits of each region. Barbara loves the precision and linear focus of Anderson Valley Pinot and Chardonnay. Peggy prefers the opulence and exotic aromas of their Russian River counterparts. We created WindRacer in 2006 to explore and contrast the extraordinary wines from these two cool, maritime winegrowing regions. Barbara Banke & Peggy Furth PROPRIETORS OF WINDRACER
