This Corton Grand Cru has a beautiful red robe withcherry red reflections. The nose is a subtle mix of smokey notes and spicy aromas with a light touch of liquorice. Fine and elegant, this robust wine has a supple structure with harmonious tannins which give way to a long finish intensively flavoured by fruity notes.
Famous worldwide, Corton is the only red Grand Cru appellation in the Cote de Beaune. The vineyard is located to the north of Beaune on a gently-sloped hillside exposed southeast. The vines flourish here on stony soil with a dominance of clay which is typically characteristic of the Corton wines. History tells us that the name of this appellation was given by the Emperor Othon in the 8th Century.
|Will beautifully accompany the finest meals with red meats and game, dishes cooked in red wine and fine cheeses. Highly recommended with a beef filet or with a haunch of venison with chestnuts.
