Wine Advocate 87 points - The 2009 Gran Cabernet Sauvignon offers a more floral, feminine nose than the 2010, with raspberry coulis, strawberry and orange blossom aromas that expand in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with an espresso-tinged entry. The tannins are a little “furry” in texture, although the wine builds nicely in the mouth towards its chocolate-tinged finish. Drink now-2016. (Oct 2012)
Wine Spectator 90 points - Compact and dense, showing a rustic edge to the ripe cassis and kirsch fruit, as layers of wild herb, graphite and cedar shavings emerge. Yet itís the rich fruit that lingers in the end. Drink now through 2014.óN.W. (Apr 4 2012)
This is a classic Cabernet Sauvignon; a highly colored, intensely fragrant and firmly structured wine with the ripeness and breadth of the new world and the restraint of old world sensibility.
It opens up with Cassis, licorice, herbs, black pepper and pain grille. The wine feels voluminous and weighty on the palate, with high-toned tactile fruit, raspberry, chocolate and hints of mocha; with lush tannins in full dialog with the elegant acid backbone and oak aromatics.
