Wine Enthusiast 92 points - This firmly tannic wine boasts solid structure and density. It has powerful concentration, due to very low yields. The fruit is ripe, driven by notes of black plum and berry. This is a wine with a long-term future.
Wine Spectator 90 points - This has a crunchy feel, with brambly acidity and an energetic core of damson plum, red currant, lilac and chalk. Stays refreshing through the finish, showing a pleasant austerity and fine length. Drink now through 2022. 10,833 cases made.

Wine Advocate 87 points - A blend of 52.5% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot, raised in 42% new oak, the de Pez 2010 has an understated but clean, fresh blackberry and bilberry nose with graphite and cedar coming through with aeration. The second sample at the property had a cheeky hint of raspberry cheesecake! The palate is firm and tannic on the entry, but there is certainly decent fruit concentration here with a pleasant, quite succulent finish that is long and sweet. Very refined. Tasted November 2012.
