The nose reveals grapefruit, pear and a burst of lemon-lime. This is a light bodied, juicy wine with melon and strawberry flavors that lead to a refreshing finish. A great aperitif and all-purpose white wine.
The del Villar brothers founded Bodegas Hermanos del Villar in 1995, located southwest of Ribera del Duero, in the town of Rueda, where hot days and cool nights provide for balanced ripening. The vines are rooted in a deep layer of river stones over subsoil of limestone and clay. Vines are over 30 years old, producing lower yields and intense fruit. Harvesting is done at night to maximize freshness and avoid oxidation. Innovative winemaker Pablo del Villar produces value-driven wines that over deliver.
