| The Torre Rosazza vineyards are among the most prestigious in all of Friuli, those with the greatest history and renown. Perusini, a descendant of the Antonini family that founded Torre Rosazza and a great student of the region’s history, wrote that ”in the Renaissance, the fame of our Friulian wines, especially those produced on the Rosazzo Hills, was extremely great”. The estate is situated near the Slovenian border where the vineyards are situated on rolling hills. Most of the Torre Rosazza production is from single vineyards. The result is wines that are fruity and concentrated, with more complexity than any other area of Friuli.
At Torre Rosazza you have ”the best of both worlds”. The estate is owned by a well financed company, Generali, and therefore, no expense is spared to maintain its technological superiority. On the other hand, it is operated as a small estate. This estate is producing some preeminent wines in the region and the long-term future is for continued improvement in quality. Donato Lanati, one of Italy’s most important enologists, is the estate’s wine director.
